ABOUT WENDY

Hello!

My name is Wendy (she/her), and I am a trans, EMDR-trained, licensed professional counselor. I specialize in providing mental health care to other members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I empower my clients to live authentically by using trauma-informed and acceptance-based therapeutic techniques; my clients often describe my approach as warm, empathetic, and friendly. Processing our emotions makes us more resilient and helps us better understand ourselves. EMDR is an especially useful tool for reprocessing traumatic memories and improving self-worth. Additionally, I equip clients with innovative coping skills for anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

I earned my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UMSL and completed my EMDR training through EMDR Consulting. I earned my BA in Communication Journalism at Truman State University. I use my journalism, media, and advertising knowledge to educate my clients on how media and the current political climate affect our mental health.

Fees

My rate is $125 for a 50 minute session.

I am in network with multiple insurance panels: Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna, Optum/UHC, BCBS/Anthem, and Ambetter. For other insurances, I can provide superbills for submitting to your insurance for reimbursement.

I can offer a *sliding scale fee* for a limited number of clients, so please reach out so we can discuss.

I live in St. Louis with my incredible wife and three ridiculous kitties: Mungo, Zoinks, and Lona. My favorite place to be on a Friday night is in a mosh pit or on my couch playing Mario Kart. I also enjoy tabletop role-playing games like D&D and Monster of the Week.
