Counseling with Logan

Do you ever have a lot of thoughts or feelings you need to share but you aren’t sure how? Or maybe you know how, but you just don’t have that right someone who is there to listen?

Are you a POC that has struggled with finding someone that understands you and your culture?

Life is hard, and we all need someone in our corner. Someone to listen. Someone that really gets us. My name is Logan Waight, and I can be that someone for you. I’m committed to providing a warm, inviting space for my clients. A space where you are given the freedom to grow, process your feelings and experiences, and work through issues.

Where you are and where you have been doesn’t have to decide where you choose to go. If you’re not sure where to start but you know you’d like some help and support, I am here. I will collaborate with you to identify goals for counseling. We can work together to build a therapeutic relationship that allows you to feel empowered to make the progress you want.

Education and Experience

I received my master’s degree from The University of Missouri- St. Louis (UMSL) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My practicum experiences were in local group practices, one which provided low cost counseling to the community and another which specialized in play therapy. I joined Willett Counseling under the supervision of Genevieve Willett in October 2023. I am a provisionally licensed professional counselor (PLPC) and  Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) which means I received my Master's from an accredited program, passed my boards, and receive supervision from a fully licensed and board-approved therapist.

In addition to providing therapy at Willett Counseling, I’m also a Clinical Research Coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine. There, I work with children 9 years and older in the Dept. of Psychiatry administering 1:1 developmental testing. I am part of a team that identifies each child’s needs and strengths, provides individualized recommendations for treatment, and connects children and families to resources.

Prior to Wash U, I was a Community Support Specialist at BJC. I worked with adults with qualifying mental health diagnoses in north St. Louis County, south St. Louis County, and St. Louis City. I helped my clients and the people in their lives understand their diagnosis and build day-to-day skills for managing their diagnosis. I also provided emotional support and case management…and began my dream of one day being a therapist :)

I enjoy working with children, families, and adults. I'm especially a great fit for the BIPOC community, people exploring gender issues, and adults wanting to process how their early childhood events may be affecting them today. I look forward to hearing from you!
